Researchers at the University of Bristol in England have found that shading greenhouses by painting the inside can reduce internal temperatures and provide plants with lasting protection against the otherwise severe summer heat without the need for expensive cooling energy, hortidaily.com reports. UK start-up Albotherm, in collaboration with the Rothamsted Research Institute, has developed a special paint and technology for applying a coating of paint to the greenhouse wall.
This allows greenhouse growers to precisely adjust the temperature to the needs of the greenhouse plants at any given time, with outside temperatures between 18 and 45 degrees Celsius.
