JFC calf houses are a proven method of rearing healthy calves, especially in their first 10 weeks of life. Independent studies have shown that outdoor huts are perfectly ventilated, reducing animal mortality and the transmission of infections, including diarrhea and pneumonia. Preventing such conditions in the first weeks of life is essential for the better development and full performance of the calves.
Calf huts fulfill their task in isolating newly purchased calves from a herd or as isolation units for sick animals, thus protecting a healthy herd.
