WD-40 penetrates layers of rust, loosens stuck structures and rust-affected vehicle and machine parts. WD-40 also removes stubborn dirt, displaces moisture from electronic contact surfaces and prevents stray currents. WD-40 forms a thin protective layer that prevents moisture and rust from forming on metal parts without attacking the surfaces of the parts.
